We the Kutchi people celebrate our Kutchi New Year on Ashadi Beej. It is the 2nd day of Shukla paksha of Aashaadha month of Hindu calendar (June – July).
Sharing Some of the facts on this day-
⛈️This Hindu New Year is observed in the Kutch region in Gujarat.
⛈️Ashadi Beej is mostly a traditional affair and is a celebration of rains.
⛈️Ashadhi beej is an auspicious day for farming communities
⛈️The day is celebrated in North India especially in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and some other places
⛈️During Ashadhi Bij, farmers check the moisture in the atmosphere.
⛈️It will help them to predict which crop would be the best in coming monsoon.
⛈️Coincidentally on Ashadi Beej the famous Jagannath Rath Yatra takes place in Ahmedabad and Puri.
While we love to celebrate festivals this year it’s going to be more involvement from kids side. As they learn small little ways of keeping their culture alive through festivals.
Sharav is wearing a proper Kutchi attire full #OOTD credit goes to my mil for getting it all way from kutch.
Happy Ashaadi Beej ⛈️🌿🎉
