Location : Sanjay Gandhi National Park
I clearly remember going to this place with my office people years ago and how much we as adults had enjoyed then.
There’s a lot to do once you enter the place. With kids half day is more than enough as there is lot of walking involved or either you take a stroller along. (Do wear shoes for comfortable walks)
The rates for the entry & all other activities are very nominal. You’re not allowed to litter & refundable deposit is taken at the entry if you have biscuits packets or plastic things along you.
We took a local bus from inside which took us 3kms inside the jungle while we spotted some deer’s on the way. They took a stop at monkey point for 15mins & dropped us near the safari point.
We spotted good amount of monkeys & deer’s around. Later we went for lion & tiger safari luckily we could spot 1 lion, 1 lioness & 3 Tigers which made the trip worth.
On the way you can find lot of women with small stalls selling fresh fruits like pineapple, watermelon, cucumber, chana chat etc.
We had few of the items & also enjoyed having sugarcane juice as we headed for pedal boating near by.
They also have a mini train for kids which we missed due to time constraint. Lot of open space to sit and chill within nature. Also there are 2-3 garden’s to keep kids engaged.
They also provide cycles on rent if you feel interested.
In all a super place to have a wild forest picnic with kids within mumbai. Weekdays would be more ideal to visit as weekends we saw lot of local people coming in.
